It has finally begun!!!

As you can tell by the new background harvest has officially began!!! For those of you who don't know, Dustin is a grain inspector and any time grain is bought, sold or transported it has to be inspected. And at this time of the year I get to be a grain widow, at least that is what I lovingly refer to harvest time as. Dustin is gone as long as the farmers are working, usually sunup to sundown sometimes later. Harvest usually starts around the 24th of July and goes til Labor day, but because we had such a wet spring everything is running a little later and we don't know if that means harvest will last longer or just be more intense. I'm not sure which to hope for.

She's gone!

MaKady is gone on an adventure with Gammy and Grandpa Mike. MaKady wrote a report on Couer D'alene, Idaho in school this year and Grandpa Mike and Gammy said they'd never been there so they all planned a trip to go visit. They left on Friday morning and will be back this Friday night. They stayed in Dillon, Montana; Couer D'alene, Idaho; and are now in Seattle, Washington visiting my aunt then they will go to Boise, Idaho before coming home. I told MaKady on the phone I don't know if I miss her or I'm just jealous and wish I could be with her. I hope she is having a wonderful time and I'm sure she'll have lots to blog about when she gets home.

Cousins!!!

Who better to get into trouble with then a cousin? My sister Kristy and I have kids that are stair stepped. I had one, she had one, I had one, and so on. We have our little one that passed away, then 2 girls, a boy, and a girl and she has 2 girls, a boy, and a girl. They just happen to have built in playmates when these cousins come to visit. The pictures are of our youngest two and the mud puddle they discovered when the Ashby's came to visit this weekend. By the time they were done they were both covered in mud and ready for a bath, although it was tempting to just send them through the sprinkler to get clean:-)

In Memory of my Dad!

This is a picture of a rose bush that is now blooming in my yard. The rose bush was given to my mom from her brothers and sisters after my dad died and this last spring we transplanted the bush to our new home. I have been so worried that it wouldn't survive the move but it looks so beautiful that I thought I would take a picture and share a few thoughts about my dad. My dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2003 and passed away in June of 2004. He is an incredible man. I learned many things from my dad and many things about myself just from being around him. He loved the outdoors, riding his 4-wheeler, camping, dutch oven cooking. He also loved to help anyone. That's why he was involved in the fire dept. and search and rescue. He coached soccer. He was my coach for 9 years and then went on to coach my sisters team for years after that. One of the memories my kids have of papa was sitting next to him in church and reaching in his suit coat pocket and finding candy just for them each Sunday. I miss having him around to see what my kids are learning but I'm sure he gets to check in on them from heaven every once in awhile.

KETCHUP!

These pictures are only funny if you know my husband and his relationship with ketchup. He loves the stuff. He will eat it on anything that has meat in it, and I mean anything. Well it looks like at least one of our kids have developed an obsession for the stuff as well.

I'm working on a new goal and thought I would share. Dustin and I joined Gold's Gym a long long time ago while there was only a preview center in Pocatello and we decided last year to put our membership on hold til the full gym is open. Well the new gym is up and running and it is awesome so we started our membership again and a couple of nights a week I am meeting him after work and after he has a chance to work out and then I get a chance. I've only done weights twice and I'm really looking forward to taking some classes when the kids go back to school. Wish me luck!

A New Look!

It was time for a new look and maybe some new "motivation". I haven't cut my hair since last summer for my mom's wedding and I tried really hard to grow it out but it just didn't look good so time for something new. I really like it I can scrunch the natural curl I have, straighten it, flip it out or just turn it under like in the picture. Now the question is do I color it or see just how dark it will go....

Riding Horses!

Later in the day on the 4th of July we went to Soda Springs to celebrate Dustin's dad's birthday. We had a really nice BBQ and then went to their corral's and the kids got to ride Darky in the round corral. They had a blast and even Gracie rode all by herself with Dustin leading the horse. We ended the day watching fireworks in Lava. It was a beautiful day spending time with the kids.

Happy 4th of JULY!!!

It's a tradition to take a picture of our kids in front of our current home on the morning of the 4th before we head off to the parade and a fun filled day in the park. We have lots of fun things planned for later in the day and I'll post those pictures tomorrow.

Date Night!!!

Once a month Dustin and I take turns taking one of our kids on a date. It was Brock's turn and he wanted to go bowling. He beat me the first 4 frames. And even with the bumpers neither one of us broke 100. How sad is that. What a great kid! We had a fun time. It was the ultimate kids night we had dinner at McDonald's, went bowling at ISU, and stopped at tastee treat for ice cream. He kept running ahead of me and I told him that wasn't being a gentleman that he should wait for his date, hold her hand when they crossed the street and open the door for her. At the very next door he ran to hold it open for me and before I could even step all the way through he said very sarcastically, "Your Welcome" it was so cute. I am so grateful for the time we get to spend with our sweet kids. It doesn't last long enough.
