We had a great time doing a new family picture with some friends of ours. The top of the page is just one great example of her work. Feel free to check her out at capturedmomentsphotography.blogspot.com

The best Living Will

This is another one of my finds on a blog of a friend of my sister's. I thought it was just too appropriate following this morning's post. Enjoy!

I,__________, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it, or lawyers/doctors interested in simply running up the bills. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:
Chocolate
Pasta
French Fries
Chocolate
Chicken Fried Steak
Mexican Food
Chocolate
Cream Gravy
Chocolate
Pizza
Ice cream
Chocolate
Chocolate
Chocolate
It should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes, let the 'fat lady sing,' and call it a day!

Really, do you want to keep going if there is no chocolate to look forward to?

Amazing Neighbors!

I don't have a picture of our great neighbors, but I have a picture of the gift they brought last night!

Yep that would be 8.5 lbs of chocolate cake!!! I have the priviledge of watching their little guy for a couple of hours a week. He is a joy to have in our home and the kids love to have him come play. I told you they are amazing neighbors. If you want to check out some great pictures you can find their blog at capturedmomentsphotography.blogspot.com. You can see what a cutie their little one is. You can also see some of the great photos she did of our family!

A day for remembering

I haven't posted in quite awhile and I have a lot to say and I will get to those things in the next few days. Today is a day for remembering. Our first son Braxton passed away 12 years ago today. He was born with breathing problems. We spent a week at the hospital here and then 12 weeks at PMC in SLC and then 4 days back here. He ended up with a secondary infection of pneumonia and passed away from complications of that. I can't believe how quickly that time has gone. They were never able to completely diagnosis what he had. He was just a one in a million. This is the day that I listen to all the songs that mean something to me. I think sad thoughts and think about how much I miss him. My kids know all about their big brother and we look forward to being a forever family. Tomorrow is another day. And one more year passing brings us one more year closer to being with him again.

I thought this was funny!

I'm a Ford Mustang!

You're an American classic -- fast, strong, and bold. You're not snobby or pretentious, but you have what it takes to give anyone a run for their money.

"Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

This is absolutely my favorite car and always has been. Funny that the survey put us together.

I'm such a thief....

OK maybe not a thief, just a really good imitator...I love to lurk and see all of the fun ideas out there in blogs and sometimes, once in awhile I go, huh...maybe I can do that. So I saw a really fun idea for curtains on a blog my sister follows and I thought I really would like new curtains in my kitchen and I have a box of scraps in the basement let's see what we can create. Voila!!! new curtains didn't cost me a thing. If you can't tell in the picture it is a chocolate brown and white check. The above the sink is cute pleats and the large window is just one pleat in the middle. The two pieces of fabric were the same size and this is what I came up with. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Let the games begin

It's that time of year FOOTBALL!!! Dustin and I had a "friendly" wager last season. Each week we would go through the list of games and decide who we thought would win each game. Sometimes we only had 2 or 3 different but other weeks it was more like 9 or 10. The winner was the one with the most correct. The loser had to plan that weeks date. It didn't have to be big or extravagant just they had to do all the planning including finding the sitter if needed. Let's just put it this way I only had to plan 1 date. We also kept a cumulative total and I got a home made delicious steak dinner after the super bowl. Dustin didn't like the way I picked my teams I based it on who had the better record and who was the home team. I tried to convince him to spot me one win each week before we started but he said no way. It looks like I didn't need the help. We printed out the schedule last night and each chose this weeks winners...So let the games begin.

Another adventure with family!

My amazing sister Kristy came to Pocatello to run the 10k in the Pocatello Marathon last weekend. I didn't get any pictures of her running or crossing the finish line instead I have pictures of our 2 boys camping out in the tent they made in the living room. They had a great time together and didn't want to go to sleep. Imagine that! We really enjoyed having their family come stay and if you want to see pictures check out her blog the ashby archives. I'll run with you next year, I promise.

The last first day this year!

Today was Brock's first official day of parent run preschool. It is an awesome opportunity for a group of mom's to work together to help our kids have a great preschool experience for $5 a month and 2 volunteer days. It is great. We did it with Meggan one year and her second year I ran it. We did it with Brock last year and this year I'm organizing it again. I don't have to do as much this year because we split up the duties. One mom is dealing with the schedule, one the money, one the shopping, one the field trips, one the class parties and on and on. I'm doing the curriculum and the crafts with another mom. He had a blast and is looking forward to his next school day on Monday.
